The 6hp26 in my 2010 pre-lci 750Li (RWD) appears to be on its way out, and I am thinking is it possible to swap it with a 8hp70/75/90/95? The F10 with the same original non-tu n63 comes with the 8hp70 so it sounds doable.
Also, I noticed that the F02 (LWB) 750 has two different driveshaft lengths, used in both the Pre-LCI and LCI, and are non-interchangeable. Not sure if this will affect the swap.

There are also three different 6hp26 versions fitted to the Pre-LCI model according to realoem, and as with the drive shaft variations, also non-interchangeable.

I wrote to
www.canformance.net which offers a plug-in TCU for BMW tranny retrofits, and their response was "All those transmissions, when taken from F- or G-series BMWs, will be compatible."
Any comment will be greatly appreciated.
