The 20's are harsh in general, I like the 19s. I like my short 7 but I like longer trips in my long 7's better. What you sacrifice is rear seat legroom and overall dynamics of the car -- the long 7 just plain drives better, if you like a smoother more relaxed ride. The short 7 is more on par with the 5, so I think the 5 would be a better investment unless you like the features and design of the 7.
If I were only choosing
one car and not three, I would hands down, go for the long wheel base. I have all of them and the long 7 is just my preference everyday. It's not hard to drive or shoot around town in, it's just perfect.
