2008 is a different bodystyle. I would not get a 2009 since it's the first model year of that generation. First years are usually the least reliable. If you can, get a 2013 740. The I-6 is pretty reliable and you get the LED Angel Eyes and refreshed exterior.
If it's not a CPO, get an extended warranty.
