Can someone please explain the relationship between BMW and ALPINA, at least w/r/t to the B7 in the United States. Do you mean to tell me that ALPINA is considered a car manufacturer and simply uses BMW's infrastructure and dealer network? And that if ALPINA's aren't selling in BMW dealerships it doesn't impact BMW, but it does hurt ALPINA, directly!? I would think that BMW would request of ALPINA to build (finish) a set number of 7's per model year and that dealers would order / be allocated same just like they do all other models - through BMW. Yet, if what i think is correct, I don't see how ALPINA's financial woes can be helped by dealers fire selling ALPINA's on their lot - only helps the dealers to get them off their lot.
