Never go by the mileage for determining a brake change. You can use $125 tires each and it would work. Just look at the thickness from the outside to determine if it needs brakes or not. If you can still see some thickness then it's ok. You just need to reset the brake computer so it doesn't show up as brakes need to be changed now.
