1) If you're going to modify: stay away. (there are so many computers on board this car, it doesn't like to be touched LOL "error codes galore")-- you're better off with an e92 m3.
2) You're essentially looking for an F01 (N63-motor-V8TT)--the one that has been involved in the BMW recall. -- but if you're looking for a 6 cylinder, I haven't heard anything bad about those.. I think those motors are found in the 740s.
**If you still want the v8TT.. I would check the history... what was replaced, etc.
3) I noticed with these cars, they have to be well maintained or they start falling apart. I have been changing my oil every 4-5K, and so far @ 44K.. I'm ok.
