IV bags were illegal for Aldo and McGregor fight. I remember Aldo's camp complaining about the ban. It was the first time in years Aldo wasn't be able to use an IV drip.
Basically the entire UFC used an IV drip after weigh ins. If you were making a big cut, you used an IV.
Some doctors are saying the ban is dangerous to fighters health. Fighters will have less fluid around the brain and will lead to more brain trauma.
