My 2012 750 has the same size tires as yours. The wheels/tires are not staggered. I have no idea why.
One reason yours may not be staggered is because you have Xdrive.
OEM wheels are pretty expensive so I would just keep the square setup. Have you tried lowering the tire pressure so that the tires can absorb impacts better?
