Long story short... after many transfer case replacements... noise still present and dealer now believes they've isolated the sound to the rear differential. The noise sounds to be coming from the front of the car, however!
Any way it's possible that noise from a rear differential can travel all the way through the drivetrain to what sounds like the front of the car!? Absolutely, definitely don't hear anything coming from the rear!
Also, any thoughts on what might cause a rear differential to fail? Never had such a failure before.
Thanks. :|
