I recently bought a house with my SO about a year ago. We'd been dating for 2 years at that point and had lived together in an apartment for 6 mos. previously. Make sure it's something you really want to do. Like others have said you get to see your SO at their worst/most annoying and it can be tough. That being said we couldn't be happier now, took her alot longer than me to consider it "home"(she came from a bad environment with parents that were hostile towards each other for 10+ years so she didn't have a great benchmark). You'll know in your gut if it's the right thing to do. Always trust your intuition.
