As for battery, the ones used today hasn't fundamental changed, it has become smaller, more compact, more stable and efficient.
So the EV have really benefitet alot from the mobile industry, the cost in this industry have done what the car industry wouldn't do.
At this stage there is alot of promosing battery tech coming up, using various metal inside and getting the charging time down dramaticly. Within 5 years the battery prices will go down 30-50%.
Car sticker. An ICE is 40% less for similar size and luxury. Cost of operating ev is less but doesn't come near breaking even for total cost of ownership.
