you are correct about invoice. I have friends who own the dealerships and they show me the invoice for what they paid the manufacturer and it is invoice price. any honest and no frills dealer will do this for you if they respect your business.

it's just like buying a house you can see how much the seller paid for it through title records, there's nothing wrong with disclosing price they paid and the money they're making off you if they're trying to make a deal.

invoice is what they paid, but doesn't mean the difference between sales price and invoice price is what they will make on the sale as others indicated incentives and holdbacks, etc.
