The Alpina B7 the choice if 7er drivers want more performance with their chosen luxury and of course the recent unveil of the Gran Coupe which could come in an M specification to justify it's stance and sporting intentions. Although it is in discussion there is no firm commitment to putting an M variant Gran Coupe as of yet.
Discussions are still ongoing although there has been a potential M variant produced on paper by the design team.

Whether you are a potential client or not, should BMW M build an M7 or not?
Many might be against of it for the reason BMW M is loosing its roots. The best example are the X5 M and X6 M. These cars are the very contrary of BMW M philosophy: AWD instead of RWD, FI instead of NA, AUT instead of MT, Heavy instead of Light. BMW M built these cars because the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S just sold so well, and they then also decided to earn such money. So now we can say M stands for marketing. There are also other cars that sell very well, and these are the Audi S8, Mercedes S 63 AMG and Porsche Panamera Turbo. BMW has nothing to rival these. If BMW M already went the marketing route, isn't it better for them to go further with the M7, instead of waiting and looking how the others sell, and then do the same, just as it has happend with the X5 and X6 M, and is going to happen with the GranCoupé, the Mercedes CLS and Audi A7 rival, so as the Audi A1 rival.
