I think Teslas are really cool cars personally. Wouldn't mind owning one one day.

But with that being said, I think you've already answered your question by posting this thread. It sucks but your kids' safety comes first, there is clearly no sensor in place to prevent an object from being crushed, like their fingers.

I have a 2 year old and another due soon and I would never heard the end of it from my wife let alone feel incredibly guilty myself if something could happened that could have been prevented. Just not worth the risk for me. After all its just a toy. Good luck.
