I don't see why I need to lock up a dog when with proper training, they should be able to roam around at home freely without any harm to self or its environment.
Fortunately, my dog is very docile and doesn't do any kind of damage. I just lay out a pee pad for her to use when I'm gone for extended period of time (she usually just holds until I come home but I also come back for lunch everyday).
