Both will not fit a future kid. Don't forget babies take up significantly more space than a toddler and so on. The younger they are, the more rear car space they need. For me, the 1M and the mother in law's F30 works but its a big hassle and will greatly diminish front seat legroom. If you want to be future proof, then get something with 4 doors and is slightly bigger than the current 3er or X1.
