The next generation 2016 7 Series (G11) has dropped some major camouflage, revealing its overall body styling.
The major styling components are now revealed - body lines, kidney grille shape and size, headlight and tail light shapes and yes, the hood cutline has indeed been moved back down to meet with the kidney grilles!
As usual, the next 7 Series will be a showcase for future BMW technologies, both in physical construction and its technology.
We recently showed you the
first look at the production interior, which included the next generation iDrive, including for the first time ever, a touch screen. The new iDrive may even incorporate
augmented reality via the HUD.
Construction wise, the 7 Series is expected to be the first series vehicle to use Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) in major key areas to reduce weight, and thereby increase efficiency. As the use of this material will be a key selling point for the new model, it makes sense that the exact weight savings will remain guarded information until we are closer to the full reveal.
