Don't know anything? Great! We'll train you! We'd rather train you from scratch, then undo all your bad habits from past "experience".

Not good with math? No problem, that's why God invented calculators!

And I'm serious when I say that the possibilities are wide-open. If you don't like getting your hands dirty, and are willing to move especially, your future is wide open, as you can move into sales, technical specialist, production/process "engineer", or whatever. If you're smart enough to research and design a new, effective exhaust system for our cars, then you already have that *thing* that says you have what it takes. And it sounds like you enjoy those technical things and all that.

But, whatever. Your life, your wants, your decisions. I wish you the best of luck. My only real advice to you would be this: If you're unhappy, don't hang around, despite whatever your "best intentions" say you should do. Find something better. Now. Don't let an opportunity (*cough*activeautowerke*cough*) slip by because you *think* you're doing the right thing, for whatever reason...
Manufacturing seems interesting, but I had it in my mind I wanted to do mechanical engineering. That didn't last very long and I found myself dabbling along - long story short, logic and reasoning are my strong areas, and things like social sciences just click for me. I even took a practice LSAT class and scored well enough that the instructor thought I showed some real potential. Anyhow, my biggest concern is school - when you're wasting around watching your Ex graduate, and you realize you wrote her papers for class....it puts things into perspective.

It literally burns me with rage.
