Reading this I understand what you feel. Even though the street conflicts are everywhere regardless of race, sex or age, and nobody can be sure it was exactly the way as one of the conflict parties put it. We all color facts with our emotions, we are human beings.
I am living in the country with no races diversity issues but the nationalities diversity issues, and I know well how it works on the street.
This is sad what has happened to your friend that day. When I am writing this, I am thinking about the great movie Crash (2004), maybe you have watched it already.
