Before you chop my head off, I know there is a ton of info out on the various boards about the navigation system but I need some basic, plain english. The car I am looking at is a 2001 740il and has the wide-screen navigation so I am assuming that is MK III. If that is wrong, please correct me.

Now, I do not know which OS it is currently running. But, let's assume I could update the OS and then purchase the latest CD / DVD with the maps. With the current OS and maps will this navigation be any good or should I just rely on the trusty Garmin?
