ditto. Why would they pay to certify an engine that is essentially obsolete and not sold in any current 7er for sale in the N American market?

And who writes these Bimmerpost articles anyway? The C&D article does not claim that the engine in the current X5 xDrive 35d will be used in the 7er!

If there is any truth to this C&D rumor, then they'll come over with an N57 equipped 740d that will be Euro VI compliant and will also pass the EPA standards. This engine would hopefully also be offered in the 5er. (Curiously in Europe this comes in the 535d and not a 540d? )

Right now they are offering a 6 cyl diesel in the F30 & F31 330d. Fortunately it is Euro VI compliant! Does this mean that it will end up coming over here? Fingers crossed!


If they do offer a 740d and 540d, will they also certify a 4cyl diesel for the 3er sedan to broaden their diesel offerings in N America? This is my hope- better yet the touring

They haven't announced any plans for a 325d anywhere yet, so we'll see about that option.
