I'm not sure our seat ventilation is functioning. When it is activated on the center stack nothing seems to be happening. It doesn't matter if there are three, two or one blue bars illuminated or if the temperature is set to blue or red, there is no apparent air movement. I have other vehicles with seat ventilation it is always apparent that air is moving when activated and it even feels cool at first. After several minutes of using seat ventilation the seat feels like it is actually warmer, just like if you were sitting in an non-ventilated seat. Seat heat is working fine.
Interesting to read your take, Speeddeacon. I noticed right away that the cooling / ventilation feature was, let's say, "more mild" compared to the feature in my last 7-Series. In my last car (2012 F02 740Li) when on the highest setting, you could hear the fans whirring in the seat (I often wished they weren't as loud), and could definitely feel the cool air being blown through the seat bottom and seatback. However, in the G12, I do get a mild cooling effect, but do not "feel" the air circulating at all, nor are the fans as audible as they were in the F02. I chalked it up to BMW taming the feature in the name of refinement.

One other difference I've noticed is with the heated steering wheel. Again, in my 2012 F02, the wheel would get quite warm when I switched on that feature (I actually loved how warm it got). However, in the G12, the wheel does get warm, but only "lukewarm" vs. "warmish hot". Again, I figured they dialed it down in the name of refinement. Or, maybe they dialed it down to protect the sensors in the steering wheel that sense you're touching it (for lane-keeping assist / steering assist). Who knows?

I do miss the intensity of both features though (the seat cooling and heated steering wheel).
