If you want a roof rack, use BMW brand and use anti-seize for all the threads. Lots of issues of the bolts/screws seizing up by leaving the rack on too long.
It's too risky carrying your bikes on the roof. If you have a garage and forgot the bikes were up there, you'll have yourself a very expensive accident. Use Saris Bones trunk mounted solution. Saris works great and it will not scratch your paint.
