BMW is still superior in the SUV department, save for the GLS because BMW doesn't have an offering in that segment.

And I'd say the new 5er is a tad better than the new E-class. Otherwise yes Mercs win head to head. They were absolute shyt during their Chrysler days and have come back hard with a vengeance. Unlike BMW, Mercedes changes their exterior and interior design language with every generation. This keeps their lineup fresh and compelling, just as Bangle did with BMW.

Unfortunately, Munich has made a habit of playing it safe. Save for lack of tech features, my E90 sh*ts all over the F30 in EVERY way. Far more fun to drive, superior interior materials, classic looks, etc. Sit in an F30 and it doesn't feel much different from the E90! It's basically a refresh of an 11 yr old interior.
