I’d think outside if the dealers or BMW itself , eBay, junkyards / dismantles are your best bet. Pelican , FCP euro, eeuroparts, eBay, ladismantlers , multiple others you can find near new from wrecked cars. Good luck with the hunt.
On the polish or repair question that’s an interesting one. Can’t hurt to try or see what a shop says. If I couldn’t track it down online or in person I’d get it wrapped / ppf’d and call it a day.
