Hey guys! We recently got a 2013 Alpina B7 with 36k on the clock. She's a Graphite Gray/Black Rwd SWB model, and was in absolute minty fresh clean condition (even had the new leather smell & no odors at all). We upgraded the pedals with the BMW performance set, tint & looking to get the PedalBox to improve throttle response. The original owner did the M Sport F01 wheel with proper paddles, other than that it is stock! Also, she was in warranty until Jan 2018, as it was a late 2013 model sold Jan 14'. I had my eye on the OEM BMW Platinum Ext warranty, although in order to get more than 3yrs/30k additional coverage, which was 3yrs & up to 100k on the clock, the warranty cost was quite high, to the tune of $10,100 plus tax in the state of Fl!
That set me on a hunt for a quality ext warranty for less, and for a longer term if we end up keeping for more than 3 yrs. To my disbelief the Alpina is more difficult to find an Ext warranty for than any M car!! I narrowed it down to the top 2 options that will actually cover the Alpina for "bumper to bumper" Platinum type coverage from reputable carriers. Here are the options currently available after scouring the interwebs, forums, and everywhere else.
My car has 44k on the clock now, that is what the figures are based on. (State of Fl prices)
1. Hendrick Autoguard - Sold through Hendrick Auto dealer network & can use any dealer if Hendrick dealer is not within 40 mile radius. 3/45k addtl $6,400, 4yr/50k additional is $7,200 with a $100 ded. *Requires inspection, although doesn't need to be in factory warranty period.
2. Zurich - 3/36k $7,500 with a $100 ded. 4/48k $9,319 with a $100 ded. *Requires vehicle to be in factory warranty period, must purchase before end of warranty.
3. BMW factory extended 3/75k (total odo miles) $8k nationwide, $9k in State of Fl. MAX is 3/100k $9k nation wide & $10k in State of Fl, with a $50 ded. *Requires vehicle to be in factory warranty period, must purchase before end of warranty.
The NO list was quite long including one of the largest, Fidelity - All BMW models with one exception, Alpina. All other ext warranty plans through local dealer and others I spoke to simply aren't available for the Alpina.
