I disagree here; please see my analogy with modern commercial airliners in my post above. The two types of airlines that are investing in high-efficiency new planes? Middle Eastern carriers (as oil-dependent as they come) and low-cost carriers (as profit-driven as they come). Companies will shell out for these, particularly in Europe, once they're proven in the real world.
