Good write up. I was very concerned when I read through all the oil consumption thread, before pulling a trigger on a 2012 CPO 750Li with 20k miles. At the time of purchase, it had a fresh oil change. I drove it for 7,500 miles, the oil indicator was still reading full.
I never let the oil ride to 15k miles, I change mine between the recommended intervals (at 7,500 miles, I know I'm old school but a $100 oil change is good insurance). So far, no oil consumption recorded and I haven't had to add a drop of oil.
I guess my motor finally broke in after I pick it up at 20k miles or I got really lucky.
