I personally see this as and aid as and when it might "help" an example being in stop start traffic.
I am sure we all love driving here on these forums but real world, we get stuck in traffic and this ability might just make that journey a bit more pleasant. you can drive yourself when the road conditions are more to your liking.
The one thing I would say about all of the automatic aids that are in BMWs is that they can all be overidden manually so you sti?l have control.
examples:-
lights
wipers
transmission
parking( re park assist)
stability / traction control
automatic handbrake.
I sče a car autopilot in the same way. there if you want it but not forced to use it.
