I got a set of wheels for my 5 since the service manager had a number to hit in wheel and tire sets sold.
So they loaded up their fleet cars with fancy wheels and tires to meet the numbers and sold all the OEM original wheels and tires.
I got a set of 1 inch bigger wheels and some NICE tires for $400 with TPMS.

Agreed. And part of it is BMW game playing for "new car price support." BMW FS subsidizes its leases which effectively lowers list prices without publicly doing so. Selling loaners within a year of initial date of service also allows BMW to both inflate sales and then sell the cars as used, another method of price support.
Such are the games BMW plays. If you pay attention you can take advantage of those games.
