He was not satisfied with the engine and transmission in the 750. It was a very rough shifting car, not smooth at all like a 7 series should be. He had it reprogrammed several times and wasn't to his liking so he swapped it out. He said he has gone from the worst 7 he has every had to the best.
As for the engine, I don't know much about it so I pulled that directly off bmwusa.com.
