M5 is 5 series with enhanced performance. Yet most of it's enhanced performance is purely academic and is irrelevant on US roads under 99.99% of driving conditions.
The 7 series has the same or better performance (750xi in inclement weather) than the M5 under those same 99.99%, but with luxury and creature comforts a 5 series, albeit with engine sounds piped through the stereo, simply doesn't have the DNA to match. Just say no to MKool Aid...
