+1....I like the advantages of 8 gears but sometimes, I hate it when my dad's car keeps on searching for the right gear to overtake somebody. It's like your cruising on 75mph in 8th gear, you want to overtake someone, you press the accelerator a little, it moves to 7th, doesn't think its appropriate , moves to 6th, same saga, moves to 5th and, then you go
. I just hate the time it takes to find the right gear.
I in no way think more gears are bad but I think, the gearbox should be smart enough to move to 5th or 6th immediately instead of stopping at each gear and checking if it's right or not. I think this can be solved by better programming of the gearbox.
