2013 750li engine replacement needed at 46k miles
my car recently broke down. 2013 750 li 46k miles on it.
My warranty {CPO} expired last weak. This time they are saying i need to replace the entire engine. They said something about rod bearing. I have already fixed the car 3 times before for engine related issue. the dealer said BMW has agreed to pay 70% of it and i have to pay 3k...moreover the dealership agreed to split the bill with me. What should i do? |

So you are being asked to pay $1.5k then, for an entire new engine?
Not an ideal situation for you, but for that price, to have the benefit and peace of mind of a brand new, dealer-fitted/warranted engine in a 750i, I’d suck it up |

It sounds like a grrrrreat deal and yes probably should jump on it...BUT...
cant help wonder why they are so eager to do right by you? were they negligent in some way that may have caused engine failure in your vehicle? either way, 1500 for a new engine is outrageously good and you should do it. Do make sure you get some sort of extended warranty on the new engine though. Best of luck |

And on the upside, as a BMW reman engine done by the dealer, you will likely recoup that $1500 in resale value (compared to a car with the original engine) should you ever decide to sell it.
I think you were pretty darn lucky.

Take the deal...up here in Canada BMW Canada refuses to even acknowledge a problem beyond the CCP "recall" a couple of years ago...BMW Toronto quoted me 22,000 C$ about 15,000 USD for a new engine...my third party warranty company stepped in an are doing a rebuild...new valve seals, vlaves, walnut blast intake and exhaust manifolds and replace all needed parts..the manifold issue, after speaking with 5 indy shops up here should almost be required maintenance given the fact they cant be cleaned using any additives...unfortunately the engine must come out however...on other notes...my car is at 95K miles...did the transmission flush at the dealer two months ago and runs like a new car...my engine was always solid just had the blue smoke issue after idling a few minutes...anyone buying one of these , 2011 750ixDrive or similar really needs to research what was done under the customer care package..I was lucky...everything done and that included ALL injectors...if they did half of them its a poor job...plus all the vent pipes etc etc....new battery , 105ah AGM now 3 years old and solid...regarding fuel...avoid anything with ethanol....after 4 weeks mine ran like a different car...switched my wifes Merc to Shell V Power (confirmed no ethanol) and her car runs like a different car...
