It's to hope, that the manufacturing costs of the carbon panels will sink according to plans.
Personally I'm not interested in such a huge yacht as the 7er; I like shorter cars.

The new 5er with carbon panels (boot lid, bonnet, door and roof panels) would be an amazing car. It would weight as much as the current 3er; the result would be a completely different driving dynamics and the feeling of the car body movement would catapult the new 5er in a completely new dimension.

Considering that Mercedes is going to make the new 2014 C class 15-20cm longer (spaghetti project; narrow and long) and thus heavier, such a lightweight 5er would make both E and C class obsolete and antiquated.
