My 2014 750LI has a parking brake problem.....
I keep getting this message on the display, "Limited Parking Brake Functionality"
Ughhhhhh. Hope it's not to serious. I love this car! It's very irritating! I have always had the habit of setting the parking brake when I park, time for a dealer visit.... Has anyone had this problem before?

Here's hoping it won't be anything too severe. The problem comes and goes. I wouldn't worry, but the problem comes and doesn't go more often than not!

I brought my car in last week (before the parking brake limited problem) for an alignment, the steering wheel was a little off so they did an alignment. My 2014 only has 200 miles on it. I wonder if this new parking brake limited problem is related to the service and alignment! Damn

Sure enough! Part is on backorder, may take 3 weeks or longer to get. They wanted to keep my car on the lot for that period while I drove their shitty loaner and left my brand new investment sitting outside in the 90 degree weather. No Thanks. I am so disappointed right now.

Please write a letter to BMW/NA and explain the factual circumstances. Be sure to convey the date you encountered the failure, the date BMW confirmed the failure, and the expected resolution date. Next, tell them you find the amount of time to be unacceptable. Do not go into any other threats at this time. Now, if the part does not arrive within 3 weeks please let us know! You made the correct decision. I am glad you declined BMW's invitation to leave a virtual "warehouse" of parts inside your new car at the BMW dealership during a major parts shortage. Do you really think the general manager would not borrow a few parts off your car while it was parked there for three weeks? Some ranting and raving 7 series lunatic owner would be yelling at the GM to get his part for his car. Meanwhile, they see your 2014 sitting there in the lot as virtual parts depot to use at their discretion and remove working parts to put on other screaming customers' cars. No thanks. Don't even give the dealership the tempting opportunity to pull parts off your car whilst it's, as you say, baking in the sun for 3 weeks. |

Im pretty angry about my brand new car not really being drivable, I put it in my garage after telling them I absolutely would not allow them to keep my car for another minute. BMW corporate is amazing to deal with. I phoned them about my concern over an undriveable $100,000+ car and they agreed with me. Apparently BMW switched parts distributors and parts have been on backorder since June. They should have ironed this out prior to switching!!!
I bought my car free and clear, but they did say they would find away to reimburse and took the milage and time in for service. Im not driving the car (as I have a few others) and all I have to do is let them know when the part comes in. If it's a week or so, I won't care, but more than that and I will want some kind of remuneration for this wasted time and frustration. It's the parking brake button / actuator. You would think someone would have this part available.

I can't find it anywhere online for purchase.
