It's a vocabulary test, not a grammar test. But hey, they're just words, right?

*happy dance* edit: sorry @joekerr, I don't know your other credentials. (Also, I just now realized, for the first time, that your nickname may not be a variant of the word Joker, but actually have another meaning... bursting my bubble of supra-genius-ness.)

Wifey is a professor and she scored the same as you. We determined it was just one question that I had answered differently. How they decided that missing one question means a difference of 525 words is beyond me.

My respect points for you... up. Heh. (FWIW: I had assumed you parlayed your geological experience into a professorship. I assumed wrong.)

No, the geo firm where I once worked decided they needed all their PCs and printers networked, so they dumped it on me. I had to learn how to do it, including the CAT5 wiring and router/switch setups. Once I learned how it all worked, I found that I enjoyed doing it and went out and landed an IT job. Never looked back.

You did as well as an accountant. I'm not so sure that's dance worthy though. Well done to Mark and you! |

The Fugacious one, I think. But I may have also missed the switch from synonym to antonym on one question, so I'm not exactly sure. But Wifey knew what fugacious meant and I didn't, so we're assuming it was that question. Even the spellcheck here doesn't recognize fugacious.

Heh... it's related to fugue, which is where our "fog" comes from. That was one I got. Also remember it from years ago when I was playing music - Bach's Toccata and Fugue. I looked it up back in the day. Listen to that song again know that you know the word - you will hear it. I am not sure which I got wrong, to be honest. I just now looked that one up to make sure it was right before I posted.
