I agree that the 7 we see in these pictures look a tad conservative, but perhaps without all the tape, some more aggressive rims, and a lower suspension, the design will look compelling.

Even with the tape though, I already prefer this design to all of its competitors. The S has arches that appear like aftermarket tack-ons and the LS appears boat-like from certain angles.
Well that is true I guess. I think BMW could have made the grille more clean though like the CS concept instead of a million little slats. Also the front bumper is weak. If they havent messed up on the rear lights and bootlid, then yeah I would take it over the S-class or A8.

I hate the front of the S-class because it's so bland and doesnt look like a new gen model! The rear lights are also a joke but dont look AS bad as pics. The only time I like the new S-class is in AMG trim, but even still I prefer this new 7 series...and yeah the S wheel arches are a joke lol.

Good lord between the dazzle paint job and the watermarks I can't tell a damn thing about the pictures, except that I think there might be a car in there somewhere.

Actually, props to BMW for the dazzle-tape job. It makes my brain itch.

Dear lord...

How big will the kidneys get before they take over the entire front end?

looks good, just not feelin the exhaust, the 7er is supposed to be all luxury. IMO the exhaust tips should be hidden. Felt the same way about the E60

I think the lower E60, especially the 528i could have hidden exhausts like on the E39 but the sportier models, especially the M5 should definitely have their exhausts showing. I really like the black chrome tips on the 550i, they look so mean and classy at the same time, chrome exhausts are a bit played out if you ask me.

For the 7, especially since there is no M model, I agree the exhausts should be hidden. There's someone who lives near me with magnaflow quad square tips on his E38 7 (I think it's a 740iL) and it looks horrible which is saying something because E38s are among my favorite BMWs of all time.

BMW needs to come strong with their flagship model. This doesn't look like a drastic enough change to me (ala the x5) and yes i know it's camou'd. Lets hope they make Benz shit themselves knowing they're gonna lose ALOT of S class sales.

If it looks like that I'll have to throw up. Obviously it's just a rendering, but it's the most accurate rendering I've seen to date.

8er has always been a 2 door series. CS Concept was for as coupe shaped 4 door. Most were hoping it was the new direction for the 7er.

I dont think its "boring" or "lexus-like" its BMW's understated hottness. Same reason I love my e46 ZHP and have always liked e90 330i sport's. It doesnt have to be crazy styled to be hot. Too many car mfg's are coming out with crazy looking "in your face" vehicles, they all scream "look at me! look at me!" BMW dosnt have to resort to this because people are always going to be looking at them, but not understanding why. Their designs involve you without you knowing why, well, unless your a car person, then you do know why...
