2022 BMW 740i - platinum warranty or…..

Hi All,

I just bought a 740 and I’m looking to pick up an extended warranty. The BMW platinum warranty (7 years 100k miles) is ideal, but the price seems to be a bit high ($11,500)

I really don’t want to go with a 3rd party company, and not having a warranty isn’t an option.

I’m leaning towards grabbing the platinum, just wanted to see if anyone here has had success going 3rd party.

January, was for Platinum CPO wrap.

I got three five quotes from dealerships all in the same ballpark. Maybe because it’s a CPO?

At 11k, I’d roll the dice, that covers a lot of work.

What i was given by BMW of Camarillo for platinum, 0 deductible first then 250. I was also told there’s a 100 deductible too but I wanted to see the full range.

I went with car shield, 10k a month coverage, as long as i own the car, fully inclusive for 300/mo, and I've used it for 2 major repairs for the B7 already. BAsically i am buying 10k of repairs a month for 300 bucks.. I know you read al the drama out there, but if you know how to manage a warranty and have a good indy shop that also does, you will be fine. I have had over 40k on my F02 completed, and 20k on my G12 B7 already, and my E70 X5M is getting 18k motor covered under warranty too.

4 years/90,000 miles after the manufacturers warranty runs out

Subscribing to this this thread because this coverage sounds too good to be true. I've been in the automotive extended warranty industry for over 4 years and this does not make sense.

Would you be comfortable emailing me your coverage information or contract? I want to make sure it is everything you think it is because like I said, it does not make sense.

The 2 year CPO Platinum Wrap coverage for unlimited miles on my 2021 750 was maybe half the price you were quoted...$11K is wildly marked up! To be clear, the car was already being sold as a CPO, and I added on the 2yr platinum wrap at the time of purchase, from the BMW dealer.

On the other end of the cost spectrum, the Autopom price seems suspiciously low. I'd be worried about the exclusions list or if you're severely restricted on how/where you can use the warranty...hopefully that's not the case and you just got a great deal!

I agree, hoping to help out our fellow forum member if they're comfortable sending me their contract. I too am weary of just how comprehensive the coverage actually is at that price.

Just bought a 2021 740 cpo today

Bought a cpo wrap for 84 months unlimited miles
For $5600. $100 deductible
Felt like had i waited till the end i could hav egotten a better price on it.

84 months is from the day warranty started , so ends in about 3.5 years later.

Cpo wrap they said same as manufacturer warranty which includes suspension parts too , doesnt include wear and tear interior exterior parts.

Having rear suspension replaced on my 16 740 before out of pocket to an eye watering bill i wanted piece of mind for at least 3.5 years sighhh

Sold my 16 740 with 175k miles to a friend
Bought it in 2019 august as cpo with 40k on the clock
All highway miles for limo service
Only issues i had with it were
Rear shocks at around 110k miles ,
radiator leaking around 135k miles (replaced water pump as preventetive while in there)
And front thrust arms i think. (They had fluid filled bushings that started leaking very slowly)
All 4 brakes around 140k
Except the brakes rest probably run me around $10k alone from dealer

So I guess the moral of the story, as they say, is to buy a warrantied/CPO used car if you can - or pay a ridiculously high price when you go to get an extended warranty...?

They have a large splash page on the BMW Car Club of America website.

Saying that it is the newest benefit for BMWCCA members.

Saying that there is a "substantial savings for BMWCCA members".

I got a non-member quote for their exclusionary warranty with a $300 deductible for a 2020 740i xDrive with 44,125 miles:
