New 7 series. I like it but...

The new 7 is pretty damned sexy.

Except for some fugly gap over the right side of the hood where it meets the front fascia. WTF? I've seen it on every 7 series I've seen in Korea so far...and that's a lot.

I like it for two reasons.

1) It replaces the outgoing traditional spot where the hood gap is; between the grille and headlights. It makes the front end look much more solid and leaves more room to mold around the headlights properly without having the hoodlines affect the look or personality of the front. It also lets them make proper surroundings around the grille that aren't broken. Looks much more high end. Compare the F01 and E65 7er grilles. The F01's chrome kidney rings are perfectly integrated into the plastic bumper for a clean fit.

2) The new hood gap highlights the surfacing of the hood. I like that. But I do think the car would look better overall without the gap.

Here. See what I mean? The E65 grille looks so much flimsier.

What gap? I don't even see anything. Looks like the alignment of parts are pretty spot on.

I think I know what you are referring to. "...on the right side of the hood...". I have that too. The right side gap is bigger than the left side gap. It looks misaligned. The dealer couldn't fix but is willing to send it to a body shop for re-installation of the hood.
