I think a 100+hp out of a reflash is pretty optimistic. I'm guessing the turbos are sized to perform similarly to the N54 (quick spool, good torque) and will run out of steam up top. A hundred more ft/lbs of torque could be a very real possibility though.

Cool. Then do it. I'm talking just a straight pump gas tune and peak HP numbers with no bolt ons.

That's cool. I think we all know their tune will be super conservative though. If it's anything like the N54 tune a lot of people will be really disappointed by it. I look forward to someone like GIAC working on one.
Has anyone done a procede or something similar for that engine in the meantime? I haven't heard much about it. |

It's always nice to have more horsepower - but I think the car has plenty of juice. I'm waiting for my F10 2012 M5 to go racing... |

When every BMW in the US was naturally aspirated and you were only gaining maybe 20hp with the full complement of Dinan goodies I think it was a lot easier for them (BMW & Dinan) to agree who should cover what when something broke. Now that you can pick up a much more significant amount of power it starts becoming easier to break things...expensive things in the drive train and stupid things that break all on their own like fuel pumps it has become much more complicated when it comes to assigning blame and who should pay for it. That and with BMW pushing it's own performance software it only makes sense for them to make it harder on Dinan cars. |

Any update? I do hope they come out with some chip for the ActiveHybrid 7, we could see gains over 600 HP ... 8 speed and V12 borrowed transmission can easily digest that.
