the S looked dull & dated inside & seemed familiar (i have an ML)
the S has no stock at that time (facelift with leds) the 7s giant grille, enormous size, side crease line along the handles impressed me at the showroom...it had presence the 7 was so new, it was just released the month i bought it the 7s sales crew was very accomodating maybe i was just desperate to buy a car at that time since the S and Panamera were both 3 months wait and the 7 was on stock. |

The ride. MB is a nice comfortable ride in a fullsize luxury sedan. The 7, on the other hand, hugs the road like a supercharged sportscar half its weight in Sport mode. One comparison test drive on the open highway with sharp curves was all it took for me. I ride in the driver's seat, not the back seat.

7 has more features and you get more bang for the buck. It has a lot more options than the Merc at a much reasonable price. I also love the BMW maintenance program. I can bring the car in for pretty much anything and walk out without paying anything. The 7's performance is unmatched especially after I got it tuned. 7 is definitely the hands down winner between the two.

S550 is a great car...but not worth the extra $15k for the Sport Package S550 versus a 750li. The maintenance program is a definite plus for BMW. I am leasing and Mercedes also does not allow you to buy points at a discount like BMW does. It came down to....was the S550 $400/mo better than a 750? Definitely not....especially considering the 7's body style is newer and the S550 will be old in 2 years.

I Love the BMW 7 Series so much that I would be buying either an X6 or 7 series very soon. The Mercedes - Benz S class is getting facelifted soon, so I have decided to stay away from Mercs.

Why 7
1. There are less of the new 7's on the road, in Dallas there are way too many S Classes. 2. 7 is a younger person car than the S Class 3. 7 seemed to be quite has a softer ride than the facelift S-Class. 4. 7 individual options details were easier to get than info on the S-Designo. 5. 7 has a slightly larger engine. 6. 7 LI has more leg room in the back. 7. New iDrive is colorful and looks better than Command Why S 1. Interior design is nicer and flows well compared to the 7 , 7 has too many shapes and materials all over the place. 2. Exterior Design more unique and different than the rest of the cars in the MB line up. BMW 7, 5 and GT look pretty similar. 3. Better massage options on the front and rear seats 4. LED lights are cool on front and back 5. You can get the B&O audio , and also the standard Logic 7 on the S is better than the 7. |
