post the damn user name, it's not normal, and not excusable to disappear for a week. I don't care if you're hit by a bus and in the hospital. they have phone apps and everything else for paypal, it's a 2 second process to hit 'refund'.

He scammed you. Never send as a gift. That 3% fee saves your ass. You're probably SOL. Consider it a lesson learned.

If you know paypal, you know that 3% fee doesn't save your ass worth shit. Paypal's claims departments are utter garbage. EBAY's is decent, credit cards are good. But solely relying on paypal is pretty stupid.

Where the OP is more than likely screwed is he probably can't dispute (successfully) with his credit card company because he tagged it as a gift.

Their claim service is bs. But you cant dispute a gift, with anybody. If he were to put it through some way else he could have at least disputed it with his CC. I rather pay the 3% my self and then dispute it with my CC company than gift it and be effed, as OP is.

Paypal's dispute system just fucking sucks, plain and simple. The amount of scams that can go on with their current system is absurd.

agreed, but your post seemed to read that paypal would help if he had paid the 3% fee.

the 3% fee allows you to dispute it with your CREDIT CARD, not with paypal.

Last paypal crap I had i didn't even bother with the paypal resolution, went straight to credit card.

that's bullshit, again as I had stated, I don't care how sick you are, it's 2 seconds to send an email, pm, or issue a refund. It shouldn't take almost 2 weeks to get back to you...

He's stringing you along.... but hey good luck

huh! may be you have time to waste, I dont....

I am a patient person and dont want to put someone's username here without giving him a chance to rectify his fault...

the purpose of the thread was to seek if there is any remedy to the situation because I knew that what I did was silly!

The main reason people wanted to know the seller it to ensure that the rest of the usergroup might also look out for others and themselves.

Patience in case will not work. You stated you got scammed, and only redress you have is to work with eBay and/or Paypal to help get your funds back. The simple fact of putting gift on the package for shipping is not binding to the actual sale. "been there done that"

Not posting the sellers name after all this time, after asking for advice on how to resolve a long standing issue now is like slapping away the hand of someone reaching down to save you while you are drowning.

Of course this is just my opinion.
