Only suffered broken bones no internal injuries per the news. It was the bike that was on fire burning onto the car. I've laid down a couple bikes, mostly on tracks and no way would I think that outcome was possible without the proper gear but apparently it was. Kudos to all that helped.

Good job to all those who helped..

The victim is gonna come back and sue them all for scrapping his elbow and ruining his shirt when they pulled him out.

I hate when people try to do that.

Wow that is quite the lynch mob mentality some of you people have. Pretty sure the video I saw didn't say anything about

1) the car driver being at fault
2) the suit guy being the owner of the car
3) that if indeed the suit guy is the owner, that he is not in shock
4) that he was physically able to help, and not injured in the crash, or have a previous injury that may prevent him from trying to lift a car i.e. bad back
5) that the driver is uncaring and not interested in the motorcyclist
6) that perhaps someone dumb enough to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, or other protective gear may not have the best judgement, and been the cause of all this?

just sayin.... might not want to tar and feather this guy without knowing anything about it

oh and btw I ride a Ducati, and have been riding over 25 years, so I know how this can happen. I've been involved in a few accidents on a bike, seen some more, and avoided a lot myself. shit happens

Its crazy but in Utah they do not have a helmet law. So stupid for him not to be wearing one.

Here is what I read about this accident this morning.

The BMW driver worked at the University of Utah where the accident happen, the guy on the bike was also a student there. Most the the people who helped were also students or people who worked at the University. The guy on the bike was not serious hurt. He said the BMW driver pulled out of a school parking lot without looking right in front of him and all he could think to do was lay the bike down and put the bike between him and the car. However, when he impacted he ended up flipping over the bike and car and the next think he knew we was being pulled out from under the car.

Pretty crazy. I would have been afraid to pull him out like that, could have caused more injuries or possibly been sued(sad you have to think about that now).

Aren't there are good samaritan laws that protect people from getting sued?

I'm not to sure on the specifics but I know its happened before. One that makes me hate people the most is the one where a girl was being violently raped in a parking lot and a guy walking to his car saw hit happened so got his gun from the car and shot him in the head. The lady getting raped sued him for being traumatized from witnessing the rapist get shot in the head.

If you ever want to see how judgmental people can be, just find your nearest forum/message board.
