Yes comes with a free cartel escort to the factory

Although the new M2 will have 455 horsepower, it will also be bigger, longer in length and weigh 3,800 pounds plus.

I am really hoping that the M2 smooths out all of the awful lines and shapes on the M240i’s super busy front and rear bumpers.

That alone will improve the look of the car. Right now the 230i sport pkg looks way better the the M240i. Also please make the lower side skirts body colored while you are at it.

Thank you.

Looks like they're starting to reveal more body lines with this mule. The tacked on fender flares look like they're gone and the square openings down low are a little softer.

I was just wondering about this.

The 240xi is supposed to weigh around 3800lbs so I'm hoping the non xdrive M2 will be atleast 100lbs less.

I was going to add that about the front fenders but I thought I might be seeing things. Your right and you can also see more of the front grill. No beaver teeth.

Recaro Sportster CS? They are not carbon but under USD5k for a pair

Ultimately, I believe the M Performance range will and should have the bucket seats option down the track as it aligns with the image and functionality demanded by a good portion of the G87 demographics

Was referring to the cost of the G8x CF buckets when trying to buy after the fact or to retrofit into another BMW.

I've checked through the press releases for the M4, M440i, M240i weights to see what the likely weight is of the M2 in 6MT and 8AT guises, analysis below:

M240i xdrive is 1690kg

Adding xdrive to the M440i and M4 is 45kg and 50kg - I'm guessing the difference is due to rounding as they only go in 5kg increments.

Changing from M440i to M4 for rwd and xdrive is 30kg and 35kg, again I'm guessing the difference is for the same rounding reason.

M4 8at to 6mt is -25kg.

So starting from the M240i xdrive weight of 1690kg, we should lose about 50kg for a RWD M2, gain about 35kg for the 'M' weight gain (extra coolers, bigger brakes etc) and if going with a 6MT lose another 25kg.

G87 M2 6MT - 1650kg
G87 M2 8AT - 1675kg

From the same international press releases:
M4 6MT - 1700kg
M4 8AT rwd - 1725kg
M4 8AT xdrive - 1775kg

F87 M2 6MT - 1495kg
F87 M2 Comp 6MT - 1550kg
F87 M2 CS 6MT - 1550kg

F87 M2 7DCT - 1520kg
F87 M2 Comp 7DCT - 1575kg
F87 M2 CS 7DCT - 1575kg

So from an F87 Comp to G87 you're going to gain about 100kg, or 220lbs for the same configuration

Also:
- at least 2.5x more expensive
- dealers will mark it up even higher
- you will not get it anyway unless you already own a Porsche and have an existing relationship with a dealer

Or, put it another way:

Your advice is no different from recommending an M2 to someone looking to buy a base 228i (the FWD one).

X3 is not getting it (too close to G45). X5 will.

Yep! And this is "logical"!
Lets talk about "real world" measurements:

A F87 CS DCT (M2CS) had a weight of 1588 kg on sport auto scales in the supertest! (As always: Full tank, no driver)
The F87 Comp with the heavy optional big break kit had 1630 kg!

A G82 Competition RWD had a weight of 1702 kg on sport auto scales!

IF the G87 would be 100kg heavier than the F87, then it would be in the region (check my references above) of 1688 - 1730 kg!
As heavy or even heavier than the current M4 G82!

This is not reasonable.

It was rumored to happen years ago but never came to fruition. I am assuming that this car became the 3.0 CSL concept which incidentally is related to the G87 IIRC

0%. For hybrid to work meaningfully, being effective and not confusing/frustrating the driver, the car needs to control the transmission.
