Anyone know an outfit that can help me import an R32 Nissan Skyline GTR?

I'm seriously interested in this. R34s won't be available til what, '25? And, that is if the laws don't change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ebay. There is a company about 5 miles from me called Montu Motors that specializes in importing R32s. If you find a car on ebay and it's located in Oldsmar, FL, I have been there and they are legit.

Good luck with your search, I'm counting down to 2024 when I can get my hands on an R34.

This place is huge for imported JDM cars. Plenty of cars that you're looking for too:

I'm right there with you. Already started saving. Any idea what projected cost may be?

It's hard to say. Decent R32s can be had for under 30K, but I'm going to guess that the R34 is going to fetch quite a bit more than that when it becomes available as it's arguably the most desirable Skyline of them all.

A R34 GTR Vspec is already nearly 100k in mint condition. So I expect it to cost quite a bit more in the future.

Also, for all the GTRs, most of the really good condition cars (original paint, no rust under the car, no bubble on the dash etc) have been snatched up by Australia and Canada already. The ones showing up in the US are quite a bit more pricey for a good one and most are just ok condition that needs some reconditioning. Keep in mind most GTRs in Japan are not garaged and are driven year round - including snow and ice.

My friend picked up a R32 GTR... he paid top dollar for it but it was all original, no rust and not driven in snow. Throw in about $10k in repairs and updates. The CARB approval process to make the car CA legal was another $15k.

You're looking at used R35 GTR costs for a R32 GTR. But it's worth every penny!

Yes, but was it BAR'd? The BAR process alone is pricey. Some people just register it in CA through some loopholes but they don't have the CARB BAR plaque and won't pass smog.

Recently, a mint R32 was auctioned at Bonhams for $87k.

A friend of mine has one for sale. It's a 1999 Nissan R34 Skyline V-Spec with 15,000 miles. He's asking $200K.

A California registered r32 I would imagine be between 30-40k. Or just register the damn thing in another state and call it a day. Last time I checked was about 15k for the obd stuff.

That's about as much as my friend paid. $40k including CARB approval process to get the car here and California legal.

Then factor in the repairs and maintenance costs on top of that. It's a 25 year old car, it'll need some repairs. In my friend's case it was $10k worth of parts he replaced not including labor. Parts are hard to get and you wait months in between for parts to arrive from Japan... it's a pain to find some interior trim pieces and other stuff as well. Lots of OEM parts are not in production anymore as well.

I was on some car sites a couple of days ago and saw an R34 V spec going for 150K. I'll be very curious to see what they go for when they finally hit the 25 year mark and are eligible for importation. Obviously the V Spec will fetch a premium.

I was expecting maybe $50K - $60K but after reading this thread and doing the numbers... maybe not so much. As stated by another poster, my fear is that buyers in Canada, Australia and the UK will probably buy up all the good ones and then upcharge at a premium for any of us wanting to import them here. I hate resalers like that... however, I understand the business. Oh well, if I can't get what I want when the time comes, I'll have $50K to invest. I'll keep my hopes up though. Thanks for the reply.
