pathway lighting...headlamp delay

Does anyone know if they changed how this feature works from 2013 to 2014? In the past you set the delay time (say 30 seconds) and when you turned off the ignition the low beams stayed on for 30 seconds and then went off.... in my 2014 when you turn off the car the lights go out, you have to get out of the car, lock it and then press the "flash" (panic) button on the remote to turn the lights back on for 30 seconds...... seems like a strange and less safe thing to do......
