New 750i individual order

Had my dealer put winter tires on my car on Tuesday.

I looked into all the different BMW style rims and sizes they offer for the new 7series for which I can get Pirelli winter tires for.

Style 238 in 18", 19" and 20"
Style 228I in 19" (Individual)
Style 301I in 20" (Individual - These are my Summer rims)
Style 302M in 19" (///M-style)
Style 303M in 20" (///M-style)

I was going to buy the style 238 in 20 inch through my dealer and the Pirelli RFT tires at a different place (I can get the tires at dealer cost direct from the distributor).

But unfortunately none of the rims seemed to be available locally and would have taken a month or so to get from Germany

When I checked with my dealership about a week or so ago, they told me they were completely sold out of the second batch of the winter tire package that BMW Canada is offering for the F01/F02. Then I got a call late last week from my dealership and they informed me that they will get another 3 sets (12 tires total) in. So I reserved a set and got them put on the car on Tuesday afternoon.

I hope to be able to take some pictures sometime in the next few days and post them...

Had my car in the shop for another software and map upgrade. They did the software upgrade but had some issues with their servers and were unable to update the latest map data (2010-1 release). I'm bringing it back for the map update once they have worked out their server issues. The navigation has a few minor quirks and what I have been told is that the root cause for these issues are due to the fact that BMW decided to switch map data providers. Apparently, they no longer use Navteq!

Anyway, after I got the car back and I started it up today, I noticed something that I have not seen before. Either it is part of the latest software or I just never really notice it before. When I start the engine, BMW in large letters with a couple of vertical lines underneath is being displayed in the head up display for a few seconds! It's actually kinda neat

Has anybody else seen this on their cars before?

Thanks Fastbuck. Maybe I just never paid enough attention to the heads up display during start-up before, I don't recall having seen it before. I know that BMW has always been on the iDrive display and the dashboard display shows you a side view of the car during start-up.

Apologies, I misread your post. I thought you meant the iDrive screen. I don't even have HUD!

but you have a 2010 which would make sense. xDrive I haven't seen it on my 09 and it hasn't had any software updates and it was purchased in July.
guess I need to get on that

Same here, MY09 and I still haven't taken it in for anything.
But that changed today, I got a flat on mine so now I can finally take it in lol

In Europe I think you can get Piano Black Trim separately even with standard black leather.

I'm finalizing my 750i Xdrive order (Citrin/amaro) and I'm getting the Individual Package. However, I don't think here in the US it includes the sport package....yours did??

Yup, in Canada the individual package includes the sport package or at least it did include the sport package, since I haven't checked what's included since I bought the car.

Also, in Canada you can combine the individual package with the M-sport package. You get the color selections and interior of the individual package with the M style rims, the M sport package bumpers, the M-sport steering wheels, etc...

The M-sport package came out way after I bought my car... same with the xDrive, it was announced 3 month after I picked up my car.

On another note, the B7 will only be available as short wheel base xDrive version in Canada

I wonder who made that stupid decision... grrr
