F02: Missing exhaust vibration absorber?
Hi, new to this forum, and would like to ask a question.
Recently took delivery of a 740Li. Have had a look underneath the car last night, and one thing that came to my attention is that the right exhaust silencer has a rubber vibration absorber (part 18 30 7 593 199) attached to it, but that seems to be missing on the left exhaust silencer. Pics: Left side: Right side: I'm wondering if the part fell off by itself, but testing the fit on the right vibration absorber, it's screwed in pretty tight. It would've taken quite a bit of effort to remove. Perhaps they forgot the part? Perhaps it's not required? Are any of your cars missing that part too? Thanks! |

I just checked my car and there is a fairly large one on the left hand side (driver side) but none on the right hand side. There isn't even a mount to screw one in! That may have something to do with the different engine types. The 750 also has two exhaust pipes coming out of the muffler with a vacuum valve attached to the inner pipes. Your mufflers do appear to look different than those found on my car.

xDrive50i, thanks for checking it out.
Looking at the parts website, it does indeed appear that the 750 has different mufflers than the 740. Also, my car is RHD, so having the vibration absorber on the driver's side also probably means that there shouldn't be a problem here. |
