European Front License Plate Holder

When I picked up my new 2009 750i at the Welt in March, the front Euro plate was attached to a US plate holder, rather than a long and narrow Euro style holder. Back in the states, I have kept the Euro plate on my car, however, have been unable to secure a Euro style plate holder for it. (I live in a state with no front license plate requirement) I know the BMW part number (51117187366) but my BMW dealer, Maximillian and EuroPartsAmerica all say they are unable to order the part since BMW says its a European part. HELP! Does anyone have a contact in Europe where I can order this part?

Garage List
Go online and Google "European license plates". You will find a number of US companies that produce mock European plates and offer European front brackets. They have photos of the items.

There is no "trunk plate holder". Its simply built into the trunk. US models have a special trunk for US sized plates. Euro models have their own trunk for wider euro plates.

I don't think matching is an issue since he will need to keep his real plate on the rear.

the rear license plate holder looks integrated into the trunk, but its actually a big plastic piece that runs the entire width of the trunk.

Thanks for all your help. I have gone online and found a European holder for the front plate. Hope it can be made to fit the existing holes in the front bumper that BMW made at delivery time! It looks like it is made with holes in every conceivable place. I'll know in a couple of weeks and I will post back then.
